There are medicinal uses for marijuana, but the drug is so misused that the government considered it a necessary function of government to protect our children. Back in the sixties before drugs became a cultural movement, marijuana and a host of other drugs were as legal here as they are in Mexico. When the youth started turning on to the drug scene, conservative 'Leave it to Beaver' America panicked with good reason.
You need to know some of the negatives about over use of this 'innocuous' drug. Facts like, the tar and stuff that mucks up your lungs is about 7 times worse than smoking cigarettes. The THC is a chemical composition that can be, and I stress 'can be' addictive. The effect it has on the body is to constrict blood vessels. The blood vessels in the brain that feed oxygen to the cells of the brain is so severely restricted that your cognitive ability is reduced dramatically. Anytime you deprive the brain of oxygen, even in moderate ways, you are killing brain cells. This why you experience memory loss. I suspect of those people who don't experience this effect, some other part of the brain is being affected or the blood vessels aren't constricted enough to have any affect. If this is the case, the only attraction is the same as when you were ten and tried smoking tobacco. You get more of a thrill from doing something you aren't supposed to be doing than any affect the drug is rendering on your system.

Same reason he put alcohol here, so you could feel good once in a while. Lawmakers made it illegal because they like to play God.
Do I smoke weed? No. Do I drink? No. Do I know people that do? Yes. Do I care? No. Do lawmakers puff the magic dragon? Yes. Do they suck the jug? Yes. Do I care? No. Do I think that you toke Mary Jane? Yes. Do I care? If you can find a way to escape the miseries of this life more power to you. If I was a dope head I believe I'd have a little snort right now.

Marijuana is not illegal if you use it the right ways. The reasons why God almighty put it on earth it to make it as a HERBA medicine for our body. But people like you abuse it by over using it . When you over use it ,it become bad and then you do bad things, because you can not control yourself and being intoxicated with it. VIOLENT occur, people DIE, get injuried,RAPED because of the over use of this substance. So to make the Society safe the Lawmakers made it illegal.
FOOD WILL SOON BE MADE ILLEGAL IN THE USA AND CANADA because people over eat and DIE,GET INJURIED and Fall SICK of different types of Dieases because of Over EATING..In Africa and Holland you can use Marijuana to a specified quantity and it is legal and the Lawmakers made it so.

As far as "medical marijuana" it is allowed in Montana, Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington state. Arizona has a law permitting marijuana prescriptions, but no active program.
Maine and Vermont are the only states outside the West with existing medical marijuana laws.
Alaska also allows a certain amount for "personal use" although I can't recall exactly what the amount is right off the bat...

god put marijuana on earth for us to enjoy. it was actually used as medication in 420 a.c.(hense 420) the American government originally outlawed it here to keep the Mexicans out. ha! at one point you could get a sticker to carry marijuana, but to get the sticker, you had to have the marijuana, so it was a catch 22 situation, and unrealistic. don't worry though, the lawmakers are getting older, use to be our HI school buddies, and THEY DID INHALE!!!!!

God put it on earth for us to decide to use it or not, and lawmakers want to make something that grows naturally illegal, even though it is not particularly dangerous--unless you smoked it every five minutes of every day of your life. But wait! Tobacco is legal, and it definitely can be dangerous. Well, fancy that! There's hypocrisy for you.

It's main purpose is for hemp oil and hemp rope. He didn't design weed to get you high. . Opium grows naturally and cocaine form the coca leave and every other drug you can think of is synthesized from natural substances, but you are given the option whether to abuse it or not. God made everything, but he also gave you a brain, a will, and a choice.

God doesn't exist--whatever is behind the force of nature made it. Those who fear nature and don't question anything made it illegal, because they fear what they don't understand--and they want to utilize their "control" over others by giving it a label, and telling others that, despite its calming effects on cancer patients and others who enjoy it, they may not have it! Wherever there is a potential for individual freedom, someone ALWAYS wants to remove that potential simply because they can!

It is very simple and I don't understand why ppl ask this question so often.
Marijuana can not be made legal because it is a drug that alters the mind and does harm to the body even when used in MODERATION.
In layman's terms, one beer does no harm to your body and does not get you high, whereas, one toke off of a joint does.
