From the Community Guidelines:

From this it seems it is incumbent on the poster not to post copyrighted material. It says nothing about printing the information that is posted. Most of the information given on Answers is freely available elsewhere on the internet and in books, etc. I don't think anyone can seriously claim copyright for an "original work" when providing freely available information from freely available sources.

Yes you can, and no, it's not illegal.
you highlight what you want to print--this is done by putting your pointer(arrow) by the top of what you want to print and dragging it down highlighting what you want to print. This may take some practice. if it goes wrong just click on the page around the highlighted area and it will go back to normal.
after you have highlighted the area you want to print--click on "file"--then"print"then"selection"then choose the number on copies you want (one is selected by default) and click on OK.
This will allow you to print just the thing that was highlighted. This will work on about 95% of stuff--including pictures. If you can't (it happens sometimes) when you click on print the "selection" will be grayed out. in this case you can not print the highlighted item.
The other answer was referring to copying copyrighted material. Usually, a copy shop (Kinko's, Office Depot, etc.) will not copy this material for copyright reasons. It's not that it's illegal, it's just they don't want to take the chance because they have no control over what you do with the material after they have printed it.
THE LAW
you can copy something, but not all of it. as long as the following conditions are met:
1. you do not claim it as yours (plagerism)
2. as long as you do not try to sell it
3.(this is where Napster got into trouble) as long as your copying this material does not deprive the owner (songs, books, whatever) of income. in the case of a song--it has been proven in court that it is illegal. in the case of a passage from a book(even though it may state that any part may not be reproduced without authors consent) it would not be pursued by the author as long as you credited the author with ownership (as in a footnote)

You can't...legally. Each reply is automatically protected by the copyright laws of the US. You must have the written permission of the owner to copy the writing. There are very limited exceptions for "fair use" but that does not likely apply in your case. Sorry.

if someone is answering your question there should not be any illegal activity for you to print it out.
to print it either copy then paste into a Word Processor, then print or highlight go and click control+p (or go to file and click on print) then click the "print selected" choice and that should be it

Of course you can. Left click and drag mouse on the entire content to want to copy and then right click on the highlighted part and choose to copy and paste it on note pad by right clicking again.
