Plants are nice guys but when an orange tree makes vitamin C they are not doing it for us. They make vitamin C because they need it. We just happen to come along and eat it first. So yes, to answer your question, plants do need vitamins.

Fortunately they produce more vitamin than they need so there's enough for us taking our share without hurting the plant.

Flowers need water, light, potasium, nitrates to grow.
