I'm looking for a good restaurant that has authentic homecooking like sukiyaki or udon and sushi like people would make at home. Not interested in places like Miyake or Ariake. Thx!!

Sushi Masa on Camden near Kooser. Sushi is among the freshest you can find. Sushi chefs are great, service is friendly but can be slow.
If you are willing to go to Cupertino, check out Kitsho on Wolfe Rd. It's where the Japanese expats go when they want sushi. Nuff said.
