Yes! Yahoo! Mail users can read their Yahoo! Mail messages in Netscape, Eudora, or Outlook by subscribing to the Yahoo! Mail Plus service. This service allows you to use Outlook, Eudora, or another POP3 client to access and manage your Yahoo! Mail and also includes the ability to:
Automatically forward your Yahoo! Mail to another email account -- even another Yahoo! address.
Send messages up to 10MB in size
Send email without the Yahoo! promotional text at the bottom.
Once you have subscribed, you're ready to set up your Yahoo! Mail account to read your messages in an email program. Click "Mail Options," choose "POP Access & Forwarding," and follow the directions.

Outlook allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages. Please choose your version for instructions:

To add a new email account to your existing profile, do the following:
From the Tools menu, select "Services."
Click "Add" and then click "OK."
In the Available Information Services box, click "Internet Email."
Click on the "General" tab.
Type a name for your new Internet email account (for example, "Yahoo! Mail").
Enter your name.
Enter your Yahoo! Mail address (for example, "user@yahoo.com.au").
Click the "Server" tab.
In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, enter pop.mail.yahoo.com.au
In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box, enter smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au
In the Account Name box, enter your Yahoo! Mail address (without the "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz").
In the Password box, enter your Yahoo! Mail password.
Check "Remember Password" if you do not want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..." or "My server requires authentication."
Click "OK."
To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail server:
From the Tools menu, select "Options."
Click on the "Mail Services" tab.
Select your Yahoo! Mail account and click "Properties."
Click on the "Advanced" tab.
Check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express.
Click "OK."
Close Microsoft Outlook and restart.
Microsoft Outlook 98 and 2000
To add a new email account to your existing profile:
From the Tools menu, select "Accounts." If you do not see "Accounts," place your cursor over the two arrows at the bottom of the list to display more choices.
Click the "Add" button.
From the Add menu, click "Mail."
Type your name as you would like it to appear when you send a message in the Display name box and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, enter your Yahoo! Mail address (for example, "user@yahoo.com.au") and click "Next."
In the box labeled "My incoming mail server is a..." select "POP3" server.
In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server box, type pop.mail.yahoo.com.au
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au
Click "Next."
In the Account Name box, enter your Yahoo! Mail name (your address without the "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz").
In the Password box, enter your Yahoo! Mail password.
Do not check "Log On Using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)."
Click "Next."
Type a name for your new Internet email account (for example, Yahoo! Mail).
Choose the appropriate connection type under the Which Method Do You Use to Connect to the Internet heading.
If you chose "Connect using my phone line," you will need to select a dial-up connection in the Dial up Connection Wizard and click "Next."
Click "Finish."
To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail server:
From the Tools menu, select "Accounts."
Click on the "Mail" tab.
Select your Yahoo! Mail account and click "Properties."

In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz") and click "Next."
Select "POP3" to answer the question "My incoming mail server is a...."
In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type pop.mail.yahoo.com.au
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au
Click "Next."
In the Account Name box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (without the "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz").
In the Password box, type your Yahoo! Mail Password.
If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
Do not check the "Log on using secure password" box.
Click "Next."
Click "Finish."
To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail Server:
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Double-click the account labeled pop.mail.yahoo.com.au
Select the "Advanced" tab.
In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express.
Netscape
Versions 4.5, 4.61, and 4.7
Important: Before you delete your current settings, make sure you write them down so you can check email from that account after you make these changes. Netscape allows you to specify only one POP server and one SMTP server at a time.
From the Edit menu on the toolbar, select "Preferences."
Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select "Mail Servers." If you do not see "Mail Servers," click the plus sign (+) to display more categories.
Click "Add" to display the Mail Server Properties dialog box.
In the Server name box, type pop.mail.yahoo.com.au
Under Server Type, click the drop-down list and select "POP3 Server."
Under User Name, type your Yahoo! Mail address (without the "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz").
Check "Remember password" so you don't have to re-enter your password each time you start Messenger. You will be prompted for your password initially.
If you want to keep messages in your Yahoo! Mail account once they are retrieved, select the "POP" tab and check the box labeled "Leave messages on server."
Click "OK."
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au
In the Outgoing mail server user name box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (without the "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz").
Click "OK."
Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select "Identity."
In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz").
Click "OK."
Eudora 5.1 and higher
Version 4 of Eudora Pro allows you to set up multiple email accounts, so you do not have to replace your current POP and SMTP settings in order to send and receive new Yahoo! Mail messages.
Click on the Tools Menu and select "Personalities."
Right click in the "Personalities" box (on the left of the screen) and select "New."
The New Account Wizard will take you through the set-up.
Use the following settings:
Personality Name: Yahoo! Mail
Account Settings: select "Create a new account."
Personal Information: enter your name.
Email Address: enter your Yahoo! Mail address (i.e., user@yahoo.com.au or user@yahoo.co.nz).
Login Name: enter your Yahoo! Mail address name (without the "@yahoo.com.au" or "@yahoo.co.nz").
Incoming Email Server: type pop.mail.yahoo.com.au make sure that POP is selected at the bottom.
Outgoing Email Server: type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au
Click the "Finish" button when you are done.
To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail Server, follow these steps:
Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Options."
Click the picture on the left that says "Incoming Mail."
Check "Delete from server after…" if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them Eudora. Do not check this box if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer.
Remember, you can always visit the Yahoo! Mail web site whenever you like, even if you're receiving your messages using POP.
