Go on an adventure to gain new insight into your world and see places that inspire you to dream.
Learning to remember your dreams can be helpful too. Take time to balance work, play, exercise, and your spiritual nature. Allowing equal time for each one is critical for a healthy mind and your ability to be creative.

I know you're probably sick of hearing this, but just give it time. I have writers block 90% of the time, and if I try and force myself to write, I just come up with crap. When I dont force it, I get inspired and the stuff is a lot better.
Maybe try reading something you havent read before, or watching a film that you havent seen, might inspire you again, as well.

as a writer I have often suffered from this. I have this english book for one of my classes that talks about writers block. It asks if you expect ideas to come out fully formed and sounding perfect from your head to the paper, and it says that if you do: you are expecting too much of yourself. professional writers don't even do that. It helps to make a bunch of notes, and just freewrite on what your characters motivations are, where you want them to go, why you're writing the story, and just keep on putting down questions. when you cant think of any more start slowly answering them.
Don't force it though! have FUN with your writing! Good luck!

Free up your mind... the best cure for writers block is to continue life and let it give you things to write about.
There is nothing more enticing than honest writing derived from experience and knowledge whether fictional or not.
An essay
A book
Poems
Haiku's
Headlines
all come from life experience.....
in some abstract way possibly......
pressure is writers' block best friend:)

Great question. To paraphrase Ecclesiastes: "There is a time to write...and a time to read."
All good writers are readers, too. You can get too bogged down in your style and mighty stale unless you stay flexible by reading work written by others. Pick a variety of genres, and certainly include newspapers. Reporters have to write for clarity and brevity. That will come in handy when it's time to edit your drafts.
You also might try setting a timer and writing for finite periods of time [like 20 minutes] a couple of times a day. You can get too close to your work to be objective if you do nothing but crank it out for hours.
I hope that this helps.
