these few stumpy kind of prickly leaves.the base of it looks like a pineapple (only the size of a large onion) I've had it since last year at this time. Since getting it three stems have sprouted up out of it and now they are about 3 feet long.there are 3 long stems but only one of them fully grew. the other two are still inthe first stages of blooming. leaves are still curled under and now they look as though they are dead. they are brown and no moisture is left. All the other stems and leaves are beautiful, why did those 2 not grow. Do I cut them down. It will look rather silly to have just one 3 foot long palm leaf standing alone. Can I cut that one down too? will they ever grow back? what do I do to keep it alive and beautiful??

Your plant could be dying or suffering from a number of things. It
could be a trace element deficiency of the soil it is planted in. The brown leaves could be from lack of water, or poor drainage. Why not fertilise it with an organic mix, and water it regularly and see what happens. You should remove the brown fronds as they only drain the plant's energy. It will look funny for a while, and the remaining frond won't be lonely for too long with a bit of luck.

you are paying too much attention to him. never touch the leaves as this will make them die. maybe you are giving him too much water. palms have fronds in the leaves even if they look dead to you the are working and could multiply if you leave them alone. water once a week in the dry times and it will get used to that. he needs a schedule like a kid needs structure.if you put him in a place he likes, don't move him as this will piss him off and he could die.
