Vitamin D is essential to bones, with calcium. Does one have to be outdoors for a particular length of time ? And what about in winter ?

About 15 minutes a day if you are light skinned.
The more melanin you have, or the darker your complexion, the more the sun is blocked, so you need more.

at about 15 to 20 minutes a day could provide your essential needs on vit d. on winter... just heat yourself, ok? take care!

about 10 minutes a day. Just a little sun on things like the hands or face will do it too, we aren't talking full out sun bathing, which makes it a little easier for the chilly seasons.

I remember hearing on a newscast that we get all the vitamin D we need getting in and out of our car to go to work and stuff. We don't really need anymore than that.

30 minutes on the temples. Clouds, weather don't affect UV ray penetration.
