THE TRUTH or IDENTITY, unshakable monoliths that must mean the same thing in all situations, right? No. As Heraclitus says, you can't step in the same river twice. A person's identity, though have some primary features that last a seemingly long time (like a river's banks), also has features that are constantly in flux (like the water in the river). Just so with Truth. Is there an absolute truth? Yes, but, like sub atomic quanta, the position of that truth, and the spin or rotation of that truth depend on the position of the observer.

Vice-versa. You can define your identity through truth but noone's identity has any real impact on truth.
That being said there is a difference between what is true and truth. Five hundred years ago you could base your identity on the world being flat and you would be telling the truth but in realitly that wouldn't be true. This is obviously off topic but just throwing that out there.

trippy question man, i think that self truth may come from identity, but the inner qualities of the two are referent to the disposition of ones outer qualities and outlook on life. if looked at from the point of a bystander the truth is prevalent through the identification of invocational beings. truth is everything that is true, not everything that is not a lie. some non-lies are false.

'fraid i never gave that thought until now but off the top of my head id say no,their two different things unless oohhhh wait a minute identity is the truth of yourself but it is not TRUTH because truth applies to more than one and i dentiy is singular so its only the truth for yourself. do you know the name theory how everything a TRUE name and thats there identy there fore it controls them and that life is the quest for your true name? so everyone has the own seperate truth. thaks for this q its really given me alot to think about

I believe that is what most people do when they attempt to define themselves--to establish some truth or an absolute that gives security or meaning to their existence.

Identity is just classification with a pre-defined subject matter.
Truth is what is conceptually understood to be true !
They are entirely different and independent things.
