assume I camp the night before at best buy. What do you guys think my chances are of getting one?

Well, just make sure that $600 (60GB PS3) or $500 (20GB PS3) is stowed away safely if you plan on camping out for one. But becareful though, recent Sony report talked about the processing chips not working properly, and this was at a time where the systems weren't even being put together. Better make sure you can take the system back and get a full cash refund back in case Sony hasn't gotten their act together by November.
If you really want one, I am sure a lot of places will let you preorder one, but even than, they still run out on the limited systems that come out for the first time in open market. Just make sure about that full cash refund, before you spend 500-600 dollars on it.

It's a Sony super-marketer's wet dream: have people w/ NO life camp outside Best Buy for a PS-3!!! A few newscams on scene and I have a FREE promo stunt/advertising. And he/ she doesn't have to pay anyone (or are there a few "campers" on payola-payroll????)
Really, why not just chill and wait for the thing to hit store shelves? It'll be the same PS-3 those idiots camping out at Best Buy right now are HOPING to get.

Assuming that you are one of the first people in line then there is about a 50/50 chance. Unless you reserved a ps3 and put a deposit in then you pretty much have a 100% chance.

Your chances will be improved if you go into the store(s) to speak with the electronics department manager to ask to have the PS3 held under your name - layaway, if you will, if the store permits this.
I think camping overnight is extreme but if that's what it takes, go for it!

Try your best,whatever it takes.Try pre-order and make sure you get it and otherwise full refund.If you cant do that do camping or whatever it takes.
