Yes, that it was just too early to play Roethlisberger and Cowher should have stuck with, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Charlie Batch. I don't think folks realize that Big Ben has not played full speed with his offense against a defense that will actually lay him out for about a month now. Did you see the way Roeth reacted when Jax slammed him in the guts?? He should not have been on the field, he needs more time.

Not a Steeler fan per se, but the Steelers looked crappy in the early stretch of last season. Well maybe not overly crappy vs. not in sync, or inconsistent. Cowher is a win in November and December coach. I see the same this year. Heck, they were a wildcard entry in the playoffs.

More than a few teams each season get the hot start going 8-2 or 7-3 to start the season... The real teams are the ones that finish the season 8-2 in the last two months. Way too early to make a judgement on the 2007 Steelers.

Roethlisberger looked like a deer in headlights on the field. The Steelers got lucky last year, they even got every call in the Super Bowl......but now karma is catching up to them.

I was very impressed with the Jaguars. The punched the Steelers right in the mouth.

Big Ben should have sat one more week at least. We Steeler fans tend to put little emphasis on the first three games of the season, anyway, because they are chronic late bloomers. Jacksonville is no slouch team, but even though they got the shutout, they only managed 9 points of their own. Not an overwhelming performance offensively. 35-0 would have been something to get excited about.

I lost my football pool because of the lousy Steelers.
The win is very important for Jax. It puts them on the map and shows they can probably beat anybody. It also shows how close NFL teams are from one another. Indy looks like the best AFC team, unil the playoffs, anyway.
I like Del Rio, not sold on Leftwich, he's ok.
But what does concern me again is your offense. Jax has a super defense. I do think though, if Pittsburgh played Charlie Batch, they would have won. Roethlisberger wasn't ready yet.
The worst college team, Illinois! They are a joke!
