Good question... Scary. Yes cloning is playing God & is morally wrong. Would a cloned person have a soul?...I don't know but we shouldn't tamper with nature that way. Opens up a whole Pandora's Box. If you start manufacturing people what happens to our humanity...? I guess they wouldn't have a soul...
Read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein...classic cautionary tale about playing God. I felt sorry for the monster.

come on we are NOT playin god when we clone ..an by de way everything has a soul so that would mean god eaither supplies another souls or it would mean that the soul is more than we think an that the loss of a soul will only be noticed in later life. Or maybe we do not need a soul to do normal day to day things such as cookin ....but we might need a soul to be one or whole an to be happy .....i think that god is not greedy an there are enough souls for 10000000000000000000 times the people we have on earth!!....im not christian ...but i think that a soul is something u get like a boon just as u get 100 points when u sign up for yahoo answeres !A boon for agreeing to live life! the soul is the character the style in u which one cant change!!,....everybody is different ...even a clone but only isnide!!.....but most of the DNA gets mistakend with soul so that is why people ask these questiones!!...on the other hand it would mean that our instincts are part of the DNA an that the way we think would be part of our soul ....tha part that burns when u love a person an he/she dumps u!!...soo ya that is what i thnk!!

All souls must be born of woman. The soul is provided by God. Man cannot shift the soul into a cloned body to extend his mortality.

The human body IS a soul - doesn't HAVE a soul. It's clearly stated in the bible. Check out Genesis: And he came to BE a living soul.
For those that want to argue with me...dig deep, do some research. Check out the actual greek and hebrew words in the bible translated "soul".

I'm just waiting for someone else to find find out. So that we'll know if the clone gets a soul and we'll all be be able to blame the guy for playing god.
Do you get your soul while exiting a vagina? or do you get your soul when the sperm meets the egg? How do you get souls anyway? Can't god give clones souls too?

it will have its own soul, which God will give him or her. .
the "cloning" part is just what is contributed physically and genetically (as when a couple has a baby). .
but God will supply the soul if it's actually a human.
the problem here, with cloning, is that those who want to "clone" humans want to do it to harvest their body parts. .
this is why we have the push for embryonic stem cell research, by the way
. . . . even tho there has never ever been a scientific breakthrough or cure using embyonic cells, they want the opportunity to create people to kill. . create people whose body parts they can use for research. .
they have been using embryonic stem cells for research for 13 years and have yet to make any breakthrough or discovery by using them, for several reasons. . they are unstable, and the animals they have injected with embryonic stem cells have died very soon afterwards. .
on the OTHER hand. .
with ADULT stem cells (as opposed to "embryonic" ones), there are over 45 cures out there now. .. . some actually being used to cure people, and some still in clinical trials but very promising. .
so, let's review. .
murder people to get their embryonic stem cells, and get zero discoveries (results). .
or just use adult stem cells (which can be taken from healthy adults without hurting them), and get incredible new breakthroughs, cures for diseases. .
which should we be spending all of our research dollars on, given the above???
the adult ones, right?. .
so why are all the foolish liberals fighting to try to get our tax dollars to support embryonic stem cell research??
and why are these same foolish liberals lying to the people with diseases, giving false promises to people who suffer from incurable diseases, such as the ones Christopher Reeve had and Michael J Fox still does have and is dying from. .
(and both of these people were duped by the lies of the crowd who lied to them in telling them that "embryonic stem cells will produce a cure in no time" )

No they are not playing GOD. They are simply making a twin of someone else and the SOUL comes from GOD by HIS choice otherwise there would be no LIFE at all. End of story.

hmmm good question. I'm Christian but I do think some of our behavior comes from DNA.
Cloning will not be possible for hundreds of years.
The cloning of animals was a conspiracy...it never happened.

it's kid of weird to ask something like that. Either way, i think a clon can be similar to you, but it's not you; it would be another human being, and it should have its own soul, i suppose
