Was there a queen album A king of ? The bands first live appearence using the name Queen was when? Thanks.

There was no album titled "A King Of". The band started using the name "Queen" in 1970. Three members of the group, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, and Roger Taylor came out of a group called "Smiles". John Deacon joined them a year later.

Queen formed around 1969-1970. They do have an album "A Kind Of Magic," is that what you're thinking of?

Not sure of the first date the name was used ....but somewhere around 1970.

to my knowledge there first album was killer queen made in 1974. it was there first hit.
