today in class an assignment came up (we have to do so many assignments to pass the class, so they are very very important) i took the assignment b/c
(1) it was an assignment that doesn't come up often
(2) my instructors that week said i could, even though i was not assigned to that particular section that week (which isn't really a big deal to the instructors, but the "big instructors" do care so they aren't supposed to know)
(3) the paper for the assignment was laying right there in the open and no body had snatched it up.
so i pick it up. i am well into the assignment when another girl from my class comes in and says that she asked to do it 1st
i got the assignment, but now she and the others are mad b/c they think i "stole" it from her. what should i do?

i have already done the assignment and passed it. what i'm wondering is, should i tell the instructor to fail me for the assignment b/c it looks like i stole it?

No, you don't do nothing of the sort.
1.) There was assignment, not in your section, but it was there for someone to take.
2.) Time has passed and the late arrival is mad because "you were supposed to have known she asked to do it. Your mind reading skills really let you down. Your telepathic classmate should have sent you the message.
3.) you did the assignment and passed it.
Do not beat yourself up because you did the assignment just to do the assignment.
You had no knowledge that someone else was wanting to do the assignment.
There will be other assignments for them to do.
They are just making a mountain out of a molehill.
They hopefully will get over it.
You stole nothing. You just had better timing than the other.

I wouldn't even worry about the other girl being mad. It is just an assignment. You picked it up first and you should be proud of all your hard work. Who cares what other people think! The instructors in your school should make sure that there's enough assingments for all students. In the meantime, stay focused and don't worry about the small stuff. Besides, the reason why that girl is mad at you is because she disliked you from the beginning and now has a reason not to like you. Keep your head up and do your thing, girl.

The instructor let you do it and passed you. the other person needs to get over it and do a different assignment. you got the grade you deserve. you don't need to ask to get failed for anything. you did what the instructor told you that you could do. the other person can suffer and move on. you did well and should be proud of yourself.

do the assignment. you were the one that picked it up .the other kids will get over it . if you- all -are so happy to do the work . maybe the instructor should make sure there are lots of assignments. for every one .

simply do the assignment. you got it and thats its. its only one assignment and its not gonna kill them. i would bet any money that its not the assignment that is making this girl angry at you. she probably disliked you before, but now she has a reason to voice her dislike towards you. forget about her and concentrate on what you have to do.
