I think there would be no problem as long as your age and condition is OK...you would have to see that your child is properly cared for while you served in the Military...................

Yeah, you can join if you qualify. Different branches have different requirements. As for your child(ren) dats your problem. They are not allowed to be with you during boot camp, and after they can-depending on assignment-some areas dependents are not allowed. Housing etc. might be a little tough initially, but benefits are very good for both you and your children. You would need to figure out some way to provide for your children when you go somewhere--schools, TDY(temporary duty somewhere), when you have the duty(you must stay on base when you have the duty). You will not be treated any different from other people because you have dependents-the military considers them your problem--they were not issued to you so they aren't the military's problem. Yeah, it'll take some getting used to. for sure.

The simple answer is yes. The reality is that they will want you to give guardianship of your child to someone else. Also, expect long periods of time being away from your child. If you are still really wanting to join, choose someone you trust. In addition, the military has increased the age they are taking people. You may be able to raise your kid now and join later. Apparently, this new age bracket is where a lot of new recruits are coming from.

Yes, but you will need to prove that someone has custody of your child for the period in which you will be their. The benefits are you will have an opportunity to provide home to your child in the future and recieve an education. Just note, while this could be the best decision you could make, it could put you in a position of losing 4 years of your life with no better outcome.

During boot camp, you would have to leave your child with a close relative or someone who you really trust your child with. Please, make that the most important step.
After you graduate boot camp and your trade school, Housing for you and your child will be provided. For the rest of your enlistment, your child will be able to live with you just like any civilian spend the rest of the day with their children after work. In some cases, you might have to travel for additional training, so again, you would have to find someone to take care of your child. But, it all depend on what military field one goes to.

you have to relinquish custody of your child to a relative.
the benefit is to be buried with an american flag over your casket, and a nice social security benefit to your child.

Why would you want to join if you're a single mother? That's irresponsible to leave your child without it's mother around for months at a time. And what sort of example would you set by going and blowing up innocent children and civilians? Try going to university and being a teacher or nurse instead.
