do all you see in america is reds and blues. When i read these posts all you do is stereotype and bash each other. both sides seem to know nothing about the issue, instead you both pick up on something from the one news report you saw and suddenly you are an expert on the issue.

And none of you can seem to find a middle ground on anything. Im a liberal, i think Clinton was a good president, i think what he is doing now with his global initiative is awesome. I also think that republican Tom Ridge (former PA governer and homeland security) was one of the best governers PA ever had, much better than democrate Ed Randell is currently doing.

Im just saying, move out of the red and blue and move into the purple, or at least the blueish-red or redish-blue

I admire your idealism, the problem is that there is no more middle ground. As one side loses ground on one issue or another, they become more vehement on the remaining issues.

The only thing that it seems they all agree on is growing the size of the federal government, which ironically is the EXACT thing the founding fathers wanted to avoid most.... 4.5 million useless employees and growing....

Wow - an intelligent question.

And, just as importantly, you could have also added that as long as the terrorists see division in our country - they will continue their tactics of maiming and murdering innocent men, women and children.

And why not? The light they see at the end of the tunnel isn't exactly a unified commitment on the war on terror. They will be defeated only when they see a truly united and committed enemy - one that will absolutely not quit until the job is done. They certainly don't see that presently.

Cut and run should not even be an issue in this country - let alone a partisan issue.

I'm sure some of the questions are asked just to raise a few eyebrows and pee in someone's corn flakes - but I'm a little concerned at times in the apparent sincerity of some of the most anti American and moronic questions that pop up every so often.

Despite all of the the rhetoric, I believe the vast majority of people are indeed at or near the middle of your "blueish-red or redish-blue" spectrum.

You are right on. The problem here is that it's hard to resist the baited hooks that are on here for both right and left. Most of the questions are just about tweeking the other side.

Not much real debate or dialogue as you point out.

And yes, I stood for an hour in the rain to vote for Clinton in '92...and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Those were good years for all of us red and blue.

But watch all the thumbs down I get...especially for standing in the rain..watch...

Sorry, I can't agree. The whole post-war, political life of the US has been dominated by fear of 'Communism' and appearing too far to the 'left'. Consequently, for many years there has been little more than various types of patriotic 'right'.
A broader spread is necessary, healthy and long overdue. It is neither desirable nor possible for everyone to agree the whole time.
Keeping the disagreement 'clean', now there's a challenge!

Most Republican politicians are liberals.... just less liberal than the leftists that have destroyed the Democratic Party.

The clinton thing was a worthless piece of crap.... that commie was the reason I finally dropped out of the Democratic Party.... after Carter, Dukakis, McGovern, etc... they put two commies up for election... that was enough... more than enough.... and what do the Republicans do... they offer pea soup and pablum for candidates.... weak sisters... same crap as the Democrats... no will to win a war... afraid to offend... politically correct, which means CASTRATED....NO BALLS....

Bush is afraid to offend the Muslims.... Muslims are at war with the world in 6 or more countries.... and Bush says the US isn't at war with Islam.... the hell we aren't.... We had better be at war with that damned ideology... it is the same crap as communism....

Today, Muslims took over the government in Thailand.... and suspended the constitution.... Wake the FK up.... there is NO damn middle ground.... Muslims want to kill all who do not convert to their ideology....

I don't know if America has become totally extreme or if having the internet gives every person a rooftop to shout from and just makes it seem more extreme.

the full call is "u . s .." i'm unsure the place you've gotten heard that u.s. isn't the call of my united states of america. that's no longer actual. human beings call it the two with the aid of its finished call, the USA, u.s., the U.S., or the united statesA. it would be like asserting that the country on the backside of the African continent shouldn't call itself South Africa, because of the fact Africa is the call of the continent.

MIDDLE GROUND IN USA IS WHEN WE DON`T ALL AGREE WITH ONE ANOTHER, BUT WE BECOME ONE WHEN WE ARE CHALLENGED OR ATTACKED. THERE ARE LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES FIGHTING SIDE BY SIDE IN IRAQ, BUT THEY ARE ONE ! BY THE WAY , WHAT SWAYED YOUR THINKING INTO BELIEVING CLINTON WAS A GOOD PRESIDENT , WAS IT SOMETHING YOU READ , OR SOMETHING YOU PICKED UP ON ?? OR JUST AN OPINION ?? WE AS AMERICANS HAVE BEEN QUITE SUCCESSFUL AT BASHING EACH OTHER FOR OVER 200 YEARS , IT KNOWN AS FREEDOM OF SPEECH !!!!!!!! HERE IN AMERICA , WHETHER LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE , OUR BLOOD RUNS RED / WHITE & BLUE. I SEE NO ONE ON HERE CLAIMING TO BE AN EXPERT ON ANYTHING , WE ARE JUST LIKE YOU , WE ARE EXPRESSING OUR OPINIONS !! MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS AMERICA AS HE ALWAYS HAS !!!!

I agree with your oservations in their entirety.

As far as "red" states and "blue" states are concerned, we already tried color coding, but the colors were "blue" and "gray". It didn't work that time either.
