What Benedict has said about Muslims is positively benign compared to what he has said about homosexuals.

Since homosexuals don't kill nuns, burn churches and just blow up people at random, I'm guessing they won't be getting an apology anytime soon.

Are you stating that muslims kill nuns, burn churches and blow up people at random? Or did I just hear you wrong?
but if you did mean what I believe you meant, that isn't true about all muslims.
But If I am wrong, I am sorry.

Getting to the topic:
No, I do not believe homosexuals will not get an apology. In a world where homophobia is exceptable among some, I believe we will probably have to wait eternity for an apology.
If we do get an apology I will be amazed.

Its the sort of logic that breeds more and more misunderstandings between people. To say that ALL muslim people are fundamentalist terrorists is to say that ALL catholics only have sex within marriage. How about the Pope apologise to the people in Africia who are dying of AIDS and HIV related illnesses because the Catholic Church doesn't support the use of condoms.
"The Roman Catholic church opposes any form of artificial contraception -- particularly condoms, which it says promote promiscuity." "The Pope has backed abstinence over condoms".
Oh well, one of these days, the Church will get with it and move out of the Dark Ages. Don't hold your breathe for an apology by the Pope for any lifestyle that doesn't teach and promote "abstinence".

perhaps you ought to opologise for insinuating that muslims "kill nuns, burn churches and just blow up people at random". Lets remember that it wasn't the muslims who were responsible for the holocaust, for the 20+ million killed in the World Wars, or the atomic bomb on Japan, or for the slave trade in the Americas, or for Viet Nam, or for the 'inquisition', etc etc.

I for one dont give a fig for the Popes apology to homosexuals, who cares what he says.

I doubt the Pope would apologize for anything said agains homosexuality. Sadly, the Catholic religion views it as a sin, yet so is hating anyone, yet too few Catholics realize this...

Look at it from the Christian viewpoint: The Bible declares homosexuality to be an abomination in the eyes of the Lord, if this offends you, you should take it up with God Himself, not the Church. You don't have to agree with them, I certainly don't, but we are stuck with the reality that they believe it, and will continue to act accordingly. That being the case, for what, from their standpoint, do they have to apologize?

Well damn!

I clicked on this question to say: "since gays aren't violent or prone to blowing things up I doubt they could expect an apology anytime soon".

But you already said it.

Doubt if he will offer and apology knowing the Church and its policy of homosexuality. This is same Church that has denied that priest were molesting young boys for ages.

No I don't think the Pope will ever apologize to us...I also think he's being pressured to apologize to the Muslims.--I don't believe him for a minute...oh well...as long as he has a nice dress to wear.

We won't get one. It took over 600 years for the Vatican to officially recognize that Earth was not the center of the universe.
