You say that he called her, did he ask you if he could call her before he called her? You did say that he ask you if he could have dinner with her so I was wondering if he didn't tell you until after he called her. But anyway most men would not have even ask their wives so in a way I am thinking it possibly would be a innocent meeting, I would be a little leary but then again I would have friends that I might want to have dinner with also just to talk about old times. At least he did ask, you know your husband better than anyone, maybe he is a very trusting guy, your instinct is the one you should trust.

It seems like you didn't have many doubts when you set your conditions for the dinner. Your husband agreed and fulfilled his part of the arrangement. Don't have doubts now. Your husband was up front with you. There is nothing wrong with maintaining friendships with former dating partners. We can use all the friends we can get, same sex and opposite sex. I would be more concerned with the reason why your daughter-in-law doesn't believe a platonic relationship is possible.

Sorry but I agree with your daughter in law. And why your husband is calling some girl he dated in high school----and agreeing to meet her for dinner is wrong. He's a married man and he shouldn't be calling up old gf's on business trips to meet with him for dinner. What an as*

Well, for stater i feel you know your husband more than anyone! And you know if you can trust him or "not" right? I would let mine go on a date with a old girlfirend. But, what do i know i love my husband, but if he could find someone eles to put up with his junk then go for it. You do what you think and by all means trust your own feelings. If you truly think you can trust him then who has a right to say anything??

He's been a good husband; he has been faithful to you for 27 years, he called to ask your permission, and you STILL have doubts. He has earned your trust. Let him have dinner with the lady.

After 27 years you should know your husband.

Either you trust him - so don't make a big deal of this.

Or you don't and you need to address the reasons why without alienating him.

I would have to be right there.....ex-girlfriend....NOT!! How did he know she was there? Through classmate.com!!! Now ask if you can have dinner with your ex-boyfriend and see how he can take it while you are in another state that he can't get to...

No, I think you were right. After 27 he is evidently yours. Don't get insecure now.

If he is a cheater then he will cheat. Wether its this girl or another....And he did tell you that he wanted to do this so its not like he was hiding it.
