will we ever quit being such an oversensitve world? there is very little left that doesnt offend someone somewhere at some time for stupid reasons

I take offense at that assertion!

Seriously though...I think oversensitivity is really a form of insecurity in one's own beliefs or identity. Those who are confident in their beliefs or in who they are do not get offended easily. A lack of sensitivity, conversely, may stem from overconfidence in one's own beliefs or identity to the exclusion of any others.

The more people are born to occupy this planet, the higher the chance that one of them will be offended by something another did or said.
However, if you are fortunate enough to live in a country where it is relatively safe to hold your own opinions; then you have nothing to fear but dislike.

Your claim that the world is overly sensitive is also directly related to the politically correct movement that has been influencing our society for some time.

Could have fooled me! I don't think the world is sensitive enough. Most people are desensitized & don't seem to feel anything...

I say embrace sensitivity! The world needs more weepy poets!
