indebtedness?

i have a friend whom i had been indebted for a year, last december, when we talked to the phone, she said that i don't have to pay it, and just think that she gave it for christmas gift to me. but now, she needs money also and i'm so shy that i can't help her 'coz i don't have the means... pls help!

you owe the money whether she wants it back or not.
it would be nice to pay it off.
