It all depends on where you live as to who will be available to you. One cable company may cover a certain area, and another cable company may cover the next street over. Ask you neighbors on who they're using.

You could go with a national company like DirecTV or Dish Network. DirecTV offers internet, but it is much more expensive and way slower than what the cable companies provide.

In my area we have Charter and Comcast. Both have horrible customer service, but Comcast has better plans. Comcast gets more HD channels, more regular channels and nearly twice the speed on the internet, all for the same price. The only thing Charter has going for them is their On Demand channels, but you only get those if you pay for Showtime, HBO, Stars, and Cinemax.

I would go with a satellite provider. I have had experience with time Warner and dish network. time Warner had horrible Internet connections, customer service, and pricing. I found dish network to be a much better deal and they also had better customer service.

I have heard some good things about AT&T as far as internet, but only if you need a phone line too.
