I have the memory for it, so it should have worked. However, every time I sign in, it freezes up. Is it just a crappy version, or am I doing something wrong? It worked for my friends...
Thanks for your time.

Firstly, is your Windows Live Messenger account activated to use the beta client ? If it isn't go to the official website for Windows Live Messenger, sign-up your passport for that feature and then try logging in again.

If you are already signed up, check your proxy, connection status and key ports by running the connections diagnostics tool.

Secondly, ask your friend to log in to his account using your Live Messenger client. If it doesnt work then its a local problem, if he does log in then its an account problem.

Lastly, if all fails, contact Microsoft and explain to them the scenario, they will probably ask for your dxdiag information and other stuff for them to solve the problem. The Live Messenger is in Beta so Im sure they are receptive to your feedback and troubleshoots.
