No im for Zidane but why do people say hes not alegend or they say he messed up his career for headbutting Materazzi ..... and Maradona ... he was addicted to drugs and nobody ever said that .. he was a bad romodel .... and they Say Zidane a bad romodel??? how that?

I'm appalled that no one here is man enough to admit that Zidane is a legend. You say hes violent or what not, well you obviously don't watch football at all. Hes not violent he holding his own, European football is a lot more aggressive than the American version. Hes a master of footwork, go back and look at the World Cup game he doesn't try to invent crazy new tricks( which i agree are neat) he uses pure skill. Comparing what he did on the field and what Maradona did off the field, Maradona did something much worse. Just because you cant feel the excitement or the adrenaline rush as you did in a game is no reason to go towards Drug abuse.

Like the other guy said, those 2 things are unrelated. While Maradona played, he was the greatest player, and he never did drugs or head butt someone in his playing career. What he did afterwards, is not all that common. Think about it: you have had an amazing life, and now its all routine again. So he made the mistake of trying drugs and got ADDICTED- i believe he's stopped now too.
Zidane was always a violent player, and never close to Maradona's style. Zidane chose what could've been the highlight of his career to make a move that was so amazingly stupid that he really deserves a Darwin Award. Zidane is not half as good as Maradona, and i sure hope will never become a tenth as much a legend.

George Best's a legend too. But he's drowned himself with booze.
Muhammed Ali's a legend too. But he refused to answer his country's call to arms.
Who decided that sporting legends need to be typified role models? Who decided that sporting legends cannot react as other human beings do in extreme circumstances?
Anybody who says Zidane is not in the league of the legends has obviously admitted to being a newbie to the game.

nice saying spasheli! I totally agree. ZIDANE IS NO WAY A LEGEND But A VICIOUS BULL!!! He is a Violent player who needs anger management therapy. I don't even understand how come people compare Zidane to Pele or Maradona. Have you ever seen Ronaldinho, Ronaldo , Robinho, Zlattan playing? These guys know Soccer! Not Zidane the BULL!

Ronaldo is nowhere near Van Basten's class. If Van Basten wasn't so good that led to his early retirement, he would have past Pele with 1050 goals. Ronaldo? You mean that fat-as* who couldn't run anymore? Or the cry baby from Portugal?

I see that you don't know much about life!!! Drug addiction is not some thing, that you can stop over the night!!! Maradona is a legend because of his play, not because his problems with drugs!!!
I don't see what Maradona drugs addiction has to do with head-butt!?!?!?!?
