If a student does not want a traditional classroom, the student would go to a school more suitable to the student's learning style. Not all students (at any grade-level) desires the traditional classroom. If possible, a community would have schools specific to learning styles -- like classrooms, laboratories, video displays, shops, etc. The educational settings (and parents) would not need to compel a student to accept a setting when the student does not want to stay at the setting.

I would definitely embrace this style of learning.

I currently home school my daughter in a program that is similar. The program provides individualized tutoring, regularly sets up meetings and workshops in our area and allows the student to work at his/her own pace.

I started my daughter in the program during Kindergarten, and she has since been able to skip a grade.

Also, the advanced work schedule allows her to participate in activities that help her socially, such as ballet and horseback riding.

I would definitely support anyone who also embraced this learning style.

It depends on the people/students. We cannot give too much choice to people who will be stuck at a college with a very specific setting. They would be unprepared for the future. This system may also be taken advantage of though. Students may become lazy and take the easiest system while learning less.

I usually had my own classroom or class work separate from the other students till sixth grade. It helps keep interest and helps you learn at an accelerated pace; however, it can go wrong if the teachers are not paying attention to the students and helping them or asking them questions to get them thinking more.

But YES! Your idea sounds like a Montessori heaven to me. Would LOVE to have gone to a school like that.... Wish my kids could.

The student would need to adapt to the new surroundings that there is in the class room. I remember back when I was student that I had to help out a student with her math problems .
