Keep the lid up between washes so that bacteria and mildew won't grow in it. Pour a bottle of vinegar in hot water and run it though the machine on a heavy load wash. When it is finished, leave the lid up.

I would suspect that you have some mildew in your machine from moisture that has not dried. Have you ever washed a load & forgot it? In a day or so, it will smell like old tennis shoes. I would suggest that you run a cycle with a cup of chlorine bleach in it. Hot water will work best. That will take care of any mildew or mold. You have germs that are multiplying. Remember, chlorine is the chemical that is put in swimming pools & spas to kill germs. Then --between using, leave the lid open to keep it dry. I raised 4 children & am 74 yrs old-------trust me-----it will work. Let us know.

run an empty cycle w/ hot water setting and bleach. When that cycle is done run one more cycle to insure any remaining bleach is thoroughly washed out. Then leave the lid open so that it can air dry. Spray a disinfectant in there on the days that you don't use it and let air dry.

good morning. I've answered this one before, run your machine at hottest temp setting, and add 1 cup of vinegar inside machine, where the soap goes is fine. let it run and voala, cleanest machine around and without smells anymore. got 10 points for this last time! give it a go, cheap and very effective.

Add waste shampoos to water while washing.
The aroma in those shampoos helps eliminating bad odour.
You can also spray perfume into the machine after washing is over!

i had lint build up under the top lip of the tub. the lip is rigid plastic and is held on by being snapped in place. when I finally removed it I pulled handfuls of lint out which would get wet and smell.
you have to work around the tub to release it.
