I'm in need of crochet hooks donated to a group learning to crochet. Where would I go or what should I do? Any help is appreciated.

When I was soliciting donations for the United Way, we called up everyone we could think of in the phone book including restaurants, retail stores, movie theatres, etc. I was AMAZED at how much they donated for nothing!!
Just call up some local craft stores and tell them your situation. If it is a legitimate group, they might just donate. It's worth a try.
Tip: Either do the donation in person or on the phone. Places were 10x more likely to donate this way. When we emailed or faxed, we got little or no response.

Check with a local craft store. The might be willing to exchange some for a slight promotional consideration. After, all the group will need to buy crochet thread.

Call, or better yet visit, your local craft stores. and don't be above begging. You might also try your local ladies clubs. Be prepared with what you need in a good short paragraph. If it is a special needs group, the odds are on your side.
Good luck,
