Microsoft Excel is widely use around the globe
Lotus 1-2-3 is owned by IBM and function just like excel with fewer features and it's a lot cheaper

Excel was originally developed as a Microsoft Windows product ... Lotus was originally developed as an Apple / Mac product.
They both have cross-brands now; but not originally.
Excel is more commonly used in corporate America... and a much better, more user friendly program.

Both r spreadsheet softwares.
Lotus is outdated, almost.
Excel keeps up as windows-ms-office gets updated regularly.
