I don't think it's illegal. Wear a watch. They're only 4 bucks at Walmart.

It is perfectly legal for your employer to use another method other than a time clock/punch card to track your hours. In my company, we track working hours using a timesheet.

If you're worried about being cheated out of pay, keep track of your hours yourself. Keep a small notebook handy at work and note the time you get to work and when you leave. If any discrepancies come up in your paycheck, you will have something to compare it to.

It sounds like you're a good employee -- most employers are would be very glad to have someone who is responsible enough to pay attention to something like this.

Good luck!

if you're working in a more professional setting they may not require something like a "time clock". many offices use time sheets or some sort of computer based login system to track employee times. otherwise, if you're salaried, i'd just go with the flow and not worry.

Otherwise if you were salaried, I don't suppose you'd -need- a timecard, since you wouldn't get paid overtime anyway. But I doubt it's illegal to not have a timeclock. Talk to HR or your super

A lot of employers have time sheets and don't have time clocks. You should ask your supervisor or human resources what is expected of you for tracking your attendance.

No, it is not illegal. But, it will be very hard for them to keep accurate track of your hours. Are you writing them down anywhere? Keep track,if you are keeping track, you have a solid foundation if they try to mess with your hours.
Good luck Hon!
