My initial answer was going to be that they may hold us partially to blame for being such a poor judge of character in electing this President . Then I remembered the Supreme Court stepped in and stopped the vote count which may have prevented his presidency to begin with , so in my opinion this whole situation from beginning to the continuing foolhardy antics we now hear from him smells like something rotten in Denmark from the get go . I believe the world does have quite a dislike of our President and his job record as many of we do . As much as Republicans like to bash liberal Democrats , it is the liberals whom stop the world from thinking all of us our behind his foolishness and misguided bravado . I wonder at this point how on earth that could continue though till the end of his term . Hopefully the November elections will bring about some changes to reign in the madness and heavy handed mismanagement of the Presidency on a vast multitude of failed policies . He is clearly not a team player with regard to foreign policy and other countries recognize this clearly . It's difficult to get behind someone whom has been so to speak caught with his hand in the cookie jar so many times such as the illegalities the Supreme Court has even brought up , the domestic spying, the patriot act etc. I"ve seen enough hidden agenda's from this man .

Anti-Americanism is hardly new. It has existed since the beginning of the republic.
I have traveled and or worked/lived in 34 countries during the past 35 years, and I detect no more anti-Americanism today than 30 years ago. Generally speaking, most of the people I have personally engaged in discussion about their anti-American opinions have not had the advantage of ever even seeing America. Most (not all certainly) are pawns of a narrow propaganda machine.
We enjoy a rather high material standard of living in the US, compared with most other places on Earth, and frankly, quite a few folks are envious.
Jefferson fought a war (or a police action if you prefer) with Islamic pirates off the coast of north Africa. Was he a war monger? Was he anti-Islam? was he an imperialist? No, he just opposed piracy on the open seas, and knew that military force was the indicated response to such destructive, uncivilized behavior.

When the government doesn't speak for you, it is not cause for you to assume that the government doesn't speak for me.
Your question is typical of many that appear on this forum...and it's really sad that you have been duped into thinking along these lines.
For instance, what countries have we accused of being a world menace?
Do the countries in your answer harbor, encourage, train, support, or sympathize with terrorists in any way? If the answer is "yes" - then it should be self explanatory why we consider them a menace.

when all you have experience with is the government, that is all you can base your opinion on. And in some ways, we are responsible because we are the ones who put those people in power. So I think voting does make us somewhat responsible. If we had voted for candidates opposed to war or whatever, things might be different. I don't know if they would or not, but that is probably their logic it IS logical.

I am not an American, and I am a Muslim (albeit not a middle-eastern one, though I have lived in the middle-east for a long time). So I guess it qualifies me to answer this question.
I don't hate all Americans. Most of my friends and family (99%) don't hate all Americans either. We love American music, American movies, American Jeans, American cars, American people in general.
What we do hate is the lies and actions of the American government. Specially the current American government and its head honcho. What is my reason to hate them? Just read some of my earlier questions and see the links given therein. My reasoning is based on reading articles reported in your own American media, and not any middle-eastern source, that you would accuse me of being brainwashed.

You're doing the same thing right now.
Their governments don't speak for all of their people either. Some people on this planet love America, some hate, some couldn't care less.
Goodluck not stereotyping. Politics are a waste of time.

All the "action" ? The military just doesnt go over their on their own. We stick our nose in everyone's *** around the world. We're spread so thin right now that if we were atrtacked in this country we wouldnt have enough military to defend ourselves.
We're weak. We're divided. You can hate the war but dammit support your military becasue let me telll you, just becasue you're in the military it doesnt mean we agree with Bush's intentions, or reasons. We dont want to die for you but if that's what happens so be it.
Someone has to do it. The **** roles downhill beginning with the government.

Americans are not bad people because the citizen are doing the best for their country but if the governing is bad, it will reflect back on the country. Remember...your government action = the citizen image. Believe me, I wanted to go there but fear of getting shot down.

My experience around the world has been that everyone loves Americans. It's our government that they hate because of the way our government bullies other countries.
