I was trying to figure it out, Bin means "son of," but "laden"? What does that mean? is it "la deen"? As in "no religion"?
It just occured to me the other day, wouldn't it be interesting if it actually meant that?

Of course I could be completely wrong. Does anyone know for sure?

Come on you guys, I'm not asking you to like him or support him in any way shape or form. It's an honest question, don't answer if you don't know.

its not his entire name. his entire name, i don't remember it, means osama, son of _, son of laden. Laden is just a name. Here I found a link to explain it better: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osama_bin_Laden#Usage_variations_of_Osama.27s_name

“Ben” means “son of” and I suppose Laden is just a name. You see in the olden days Arabs were known by the name of their fathers (kind of like their surname) and some of them are still named that way. So I guess that’s what it is!
