3 miles in an hour. I can do 1.5 miles in 12 minutes but it's between running/jogging and walking. Some people can probably walk for 1 to 2 miles per hour depending on their speed. It's really depends on an individual speed, path ways, weather condition such as heat, cold and humidity.

Most people walk at a pace of 3 to 3.5 miles per hour.
Four miles per hour is a brisk walk.
At about 6 miles per hour, one is jogging.
Top speed for a human (in a very short burst, or sprint) is 100 yds/10 sec =1760 yards/176 sec =1 mile/176 sec = 1 mile/3 min = 20 miles/hr. Over a sustained distance, like a marathon, 12 miles/hr is a world-record pace.

I think walking 4 mph (15 minute miles) is really brisk. I imagine some people can get close or up 4.5, but that's really fast. Too much faster would be a jog. Keep in mind we're not talking about the world record, just the average brisk-paced walker.

Depends on many factors like stamina, speed, smoothness of path, temperature, humidity, and other physical as well as mental conditions, But on an average it may be 4-5 miles/hour.
