Because America is a melting pot and it isn't that hard to push one, takes less time than asking a question.

Because the American people have been brainwashed for 45 years in the belief that everyone is a victim, and to resist the jerks that have surrendered our country is racist ect. What we do is, when we press one. when someone comes on we do as if were calling out of country and say (I'm calling from the United States, do you speak english) when they say yes your talking to so and so in the United States, act surprised and ask why then did I have to press one for English.

I feel we shouldn't have to make those exceptions. Alot of them do know English, choose not to. when i was working a call center, this guy asked for a translator and I got one and we were all on a call. I would tell the translator something and she would relay back and forth and before she would say it he would blurt out an answer in Spanish.

I'm like he knows exactly what I'm saying, he wants to be lazy and not speak English. The guy ended up cursing at me cause he owed 3 thousand dollar bill cause he didn't realize that Mexico wasn't a state in the USA and his plan didn't cover that, lol

Anyway the guy hung up and the translator was like I cant repeat what he said, I was like I know curse words in Spanish don't worry about it,lol

It doesn't make much sense does it? The message has begun in English so why doesn't it just continue that way? What they should do is be honest; "Push one to speak to someone supposedly named 'Ted' who can butcher the English language a whole ocean away."

C'mon, does it reaaaally kill you to lift your finger and do that extra press of a button ??? Man, are you getting lazy and inconsiderate or what ? I mean, it's not like the extra press of a button that you do compared to the allowing somebody else to understand what the f$%k is being told to him/her is such a horrible trade-off, don't you think? Next you are going to tell me that you don't want to walk the extra 10 steps needed so that we can reserve parking spaces for the handicapped in front of stores !!!
