Are the Republicans trying to tell us something? A return to Hoovervilles?

They want to change the image on the penny while at the same time discussing getting rid of the penny. Hmmmmmmm.....
I am all for changing the images so that no President or founding father is duplicated.
Penny - Lincoln
Nickel - Jefferson
Dime - Franklin Roosevelt
Quarter - Washington
One Dollar - Washington
Five Dollar - Lincoln
Ten Dollar - Alexander Hamilton
Twenty Dollar - Andrew Jackson
Fifty Dollar - Grant
Hundred Dollar - Ben Franklin
Lincoln & Washington are on both the coinage and the paper money. I don't think I'd put Herbert Hoover, though. What about Teddy Roosevelt? History speaks well of his Presidency and he was a Republican (if that's what they're seeking). Other good Presidents not on currency (used currency...I left out the rarely used currency like the half dollar, dollar coin, two dollar bill, etc):
Taft
Wilson
Coolidge
Truman
Adams
Madison
Monroe
and a whole host of others to choose from.
Then again, if they're going to get rid of the penny anyways then I don't see any reason to change it in its "final days". :)
Peace

Because a dollar was worth about a penny during the Hoover days... Worse economic times ever for this country during the Hoover administation... So his noggin belongs on a penny and nothing more.

I doubt this is true since it makes absolutely no sense. They are talking about eliminating the penny again, but I've heard nothing about redesigning it.
By the way, Hoover was a president, not a cross-dressing FBI director.

Because they can't stand the constant reminder of what republicans used to be?
Are you sure it's Hoover, by the way? Reagan seems much more likely, unless they're aiming to put him on the dollar. :P

Hadn't heard that, and I don't really believe you, but witness:
Not one act of Nazi or Japanese sabotage on his watch. Countless criminals rounded up due to his diligence and modernizing of a national police force.
Lincoln on, on the other hand, violated the Constitution by marching troops on Americans and fooled blacks into thinking he was a Great Emancipator. In other words, he was just another base politician out to secure his own power and that of his party.
