Where do black people get the gall...?

Where do black people get the gall to believe that they are entitled to some kind of reparations because of slavery? I never owned a slave, so therefore, I ower the black people JACK... It amazes me. By the way, black people who answer will get an automatic 10 points to start with.

Again with this. NOW HEAR THIS!!! NOT ALL BLACK PEOPLE WANT REPARATIONS. I am one of them who don't believe in something for nothing. I do believe that I should be allowed to based on my merit and not my color.

The only sort of reparation I think should happen is specific to helping Africa out of poverty. People alive now whether in the USA or other countries where there are opportunities and education have no excuse not to try and do well for themselves.

But on the subject of Africa, most of the major world powers were present in Africa raping the country of it's riches and reducing the population growth by killing and enslaving. Remember, a lot of big companies that have long pasts made large profits out of the slave trade. Some owe their existence entirely to the slave trade.

And regarding the response given by one person about Africans selling other africans into slavery, think about this:
You are a tribal leader and the powerful white slave traders are going to come and enslave a large portion of your tribe. If they do this the tribe will not survive and most if not all will die. Do you let it happen anyway? Do you fight them and almost certainly die? Or do you overwhelm the nearby weaker tribes and sell them to the white slave traders rather than see your own brothers, sisters, daughters etc taken?

This is a very difficult choice and one that some of the africans faced. The Slave traders prefered making deals like this because it meant they didn't have to fight. Do you think they kept slaves waiting for the traders to turn up or that the slavers gave them the choice; have slaves waiting for us when we return in xx days or we'll take you.

That's all i can be bothered to say on the matter except that your comment "By the way, black people who answer will get an automatic 10 points to start with." is extremely stupid. I don't need to be bribed to answer a question and if it was meant to be a subtle joke at the reparation issue then it wasn't funny.

Some black people think that they are owed something. But rember it didnt happen to them,Unless there over 60 or something.. In todays world the only thing holding them back is their own way of thinking.. The what man does make them go out a commit crime.. Hell they have it better off then up when it comes to college and jobs.. Just think about this.. If you go to the ER, Id the Dr. is black, that might be the main reason he got the job.. Most schools todat have to let so many blacks in to each program, even in anothe white student is smarter.. Also they get more money from the goverment to pay for school.. Also The NAACP is an all black group, and they have all black colleges (that ger fed. support).. If you have an all whie grouk they call u the ( KKK ), and an all white school would have to be private, and would not be allowed to recive fed. fundying or support..

I am proud to be white, but i wish i was black when i tryed to go to a major college.. now i have to go to a AA college not an A college.

one last thing,, the blacks that were brought to america were sold to the traders frome other affrican tribes in affrica.. so they have to put blame on them also.

Perhaps black people should get reparations. They should ask for reparations from the nations of africa that began the practice of selling off their population to foriegners. White people didn't just go to africa and force people to get on slave ships. The africans did it to their own people!!!!!

Black people should simply be happy they live in America now. The blacks in africa don't seem to be living to well these days. they are commiting genocide in darfur right now killing each other as they did in rwanda. Why would they be proud of the actions of a nation that sold them into slavery?

Forget about reparations. You are better off that you are an American and not african.

I am caucasian, as white as they come. I do not believe in reparations because of slavery. But the truth is that African Americans are situated economically worse than other people(on average). This fact can be partly, or majorly caused by their background, including slavery. I do not favor helping them based on their skin color, because then I would be racist. I wish to gather all the money for reparations and spend them on education/security in the projects. That would be money way better spent than for reparations.

Being a black woman, I'll tell you where they get the gall. I guess they figure the white man owes them for all the bull-crap and slavery they put them through. You know the beatings, the hangings, the torture. My great grandma was a slave, she was a house ******, she got to do all these wonderful task, like letting the slave owner rape her at night, have his children, nurse his white wife's babies as well as her own. She got to raise half breed children who were not wanted by blacks or whites. Basically, the white man committed crimes against humanity, you know like Hitler. Do you think the Jews have a chance in hell of getting their due. I'm glad I wasn't raised during that era, I would have been lynched for sure. I truly wish you were BLACK.

It amazes me that someone would ask why should descendants of African slaves that have experienced an amount of HUMAN INJUSTICE on par with that of these same slaves; are not entitled to compensation. All too often white people say, "Well I wasn't there I didn't own slaves.", although the funds these atrocities created I have and will continue to benefit from.

I truly believe that black people should Not get anything.As a black women I am ashamed of how SOME blacks think that the world owes us.I think that it is already being taken care of in lots of ways by,getting grants just because we are black,or getting jobs cause we are black,so if you think about it we are or have been being paid for the slavery that our ancestors went through.I think that, that in itself is payment enough and for those of you that think we should be paid for slavery..............get over it!!!
