Politics stopped being a method of electing government officials beginning in 1959 when JFK ran. Since then the election season has been about what the "party stands for" (even though with the exception of New England the country has flip-flopped parties since then).

You are guaranteed that 40% of the registered voters will vote Democratic and 40% will vote republican, regardless of who that party's candidate is. Political parties are exactly like a religion! Which is why polite people avoid two subjects at parties; religion and politics. Because in te USA the two are the same. 80% of the population has its mind made up and is willing to enter the Crusades of the 21st Century to defend their party.

If you don't believe me read the Politics and Government Q's and A's. Each side has its zealots and fanatics who believe in the party above all else. So its not just Republicans who are cult-like, the Democrats have their own cool aid drinkers.

I am appalled, what is all of this Liberal, conservative, bush is this, Bush is a liar.
Democrats eat children, Republicans are ogres.
George Bush is the president of the Republicans, the president of the democrats.
George Walker Bush is the president of the United States.
I am not going to say what party I belong to at this time.
I could, but I would rather you guess.
I was fortunate to join the military of the United States before I was eligible to smoke, legally, of course, drink, legally of course, or vote.
Therefore, I knew what it meant for a president of the United States to be Commander in Chief.
Some people would like to say that I was just dumb, or ignorant, a blind follower, but not to me, I was just patriotic, and because of it, the United States probably has more meaning to me.
If I do not like Bush, I will help the campaign against him.
If it is a negative campaign, I will drop out of it.
That goes for any other candidate.
The enemies of the country love to see us become more negative.
I could imagine some terrorist recruiting a member of an opposite party to fight the other party, that is a fiction right now, but I am wondering about tomorrow.

Dahlia!

You hit the nail on the head! Just read some of my simple questions posed to Pro-Bush Americans on this site earlier. I always quoted an American source or website (not a middle-east one, mind you) and asked for their response. I was surprised by the sheer stubborness of those people by refusing not only to believe what has been reported in their own American media, but also to challenge their minds once and try to seek the truth behind the reported article. In fact, what I got mostly were acerbic denials! In fact most of them tried to ridicule my usage of English language so as to make me feel that I don't even know what I speak.

Not very different from Islamic radicalist's reaction to the dogma being spread by their so called spiritual leaders!

I am a Muslim too, and practicising one at that. But I have never succumbed to the call of violence for any of the problems that Muslims face. I urge all Muslim brothers to alleviate their current position by better education and economic growth and through meaningful dialogues and debates.

But I am afraid that Bush, and his kind, don't make this any easier for any Muslims. Their actions are just increasing the hatred for them amongst Muslims exponentially. I really shudder to think what is gonna happen in a few years from now if this madness continues.

That is so stupid. I can make the same statement about democrats and Bill Clinton or John Kerry or Howard Dean.

I am a conservative republican and I have critisized Bush several times on several issues. Republicans are much more opened minded than the Clinton Kool Aid drinking liberals - that's for damned sure.

Isn't it annoying and if you actually sit throuh his rehearsed, full of lies, made up speech you have no sense? This man has conned America enough, time to wake up people! Bush is a liar ! A hypocrite, a phony and a cheat. He has done enough and hurt enough families, because of his airhead and greed, along with his puppets. Enough is enough, I personally know families who have been affected from deaths and the war because of fake a*s George Bush. And how the H**l is he going to o to another mans country and not acknowledge him or gret him, so f*****g rude and a dummy. Ain't no weapon of mass destruction, all a lie, he is making people become terrorist because of all the torture he is afflicting on innocent middle easterners, look at us in America, gas, it's ridiculous. Man if you it back and think, what the h**l have they accomplished since going to war? Hmmm what about the number to date of all the lives taken from this war since beginning in 2003? Good question. Think hard, think long and hard. Bush is a terrorist and a bully, greedy a*s, own oil companies and want to own all own companies, he is a crooked man, trust me i've done my homework, he means this country no good.

This has been asked so many times. Can't you people come up with something new? You can say what you want about me because I can really care less what anyone thinks. People support who they want to support. You people think that because you hate Bush that everyone else must think like you.

Bush tells us "the terrorists hate our freedoms", so what does Bush do? He starts takinmg away our freedoms. When Bush does this then aren't the terrorists winning?

Lets face it folks Bush is using SCARE and FEAR to help get Republicans elected. He's also using it to slowly take away our freedoms and privacy's under so called "national security".

If we continue to let Bush do this then we will be living in George Orwells 1984 BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING.

I say give me liberty or give me death. Those who are willing to give up their liberty for a little security deserve no liberty or security. Its all a scam by Bush.

And if anybody tells you "your un-American" don't buy into it, it's a guilt trip tactic. In fact let's look at the quote below and see if this sounds familiar

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Besides being a typical airhead twinkie, you would sell out a good man and keep the traitors who will sell you out to Mexico. Do your homework, honey, and quit being a mindless parrot for the left..

Further, you are very close to being an apologist for the enemies of my country. You do not give one example of illegal surveillance or torture, just more Muslim lies.
