Just trying to relax, but if you can do that, you'll be fine (honest!)

The hardest part is relaxing and realizing that your doctor is a professional and does pelvic exams all the time. Once you get comfortable with your doctor you should be fine.

relaxing is the hardest part. My gynaecologist told me to rest one knee on The wall and let the other just flop. After about my 10th one I decided to try it and unbelievably it it a great technique for relaxing the pelvic muscles! Try it! I also totally agree with candy g, get a male to do it if you can.

for me the hardest part was just getting used to the feeling of them putting a tool inside you, at first it will feel weird and maybe a bit painful but the doctor will be careful not tob hurt you so just try to relax by talking to the doctor or just singing a song in your head. by the time you know the exam will be over with.

I think the hardest part may be being embarrassed about the whole procedure. You just have to relax and remember to breathe. It doesn't last very long, and you only have to do it once a year...

Actually relaxing enough to get your knees apart...they will usually have to PRY them apart....EVERY time you go...even when you are old. There is nothing relaxing or natural about THAT position.

being able to relax, it is uncomfortable IMO but not beyond what any one can take...............IMO a male is MUCH more gentler than a female but that would depend on you IF you an get over the embarrassment.
