I'm going to travel from Japan. I miss booked my flight to Greenville South Carolina. But I need to go to Greenville North Carolina.
My flight is 2days later. So I can't change my flight.
I'd like to know how to move from Greenville SC to Greenville NC.
What will you do? Rentacar and drive 350miles?
Is there a bus?

Could you please give me some advices?
Thanks

1) Can you buy a plane ticket when you get to Greenville, SC? Greenville, NC isn't very big so I do not think that there would be a direct flight. You probably would fly to Greensboro, NC or Durham, NC. and connect from there. You'd have to wait in Greenville, SC and then wait in Greensboro for the connector flight. That's a lot of waiting.
2) Definitely rent a car. 350 miles is a short distance in America. At 65 mph, it takes about 5 or 6 hours. You can rent almost ANY type of car that you ask for - convertible, etc... America has lots of major, four-lane, divided highways called Interstates. From Greenville, SC, take I-85 North to Durham, NC. Then, take I-40 East a few miles to Raleigh, NC. Then, take US-264 to Greenville, NC. Don't worry - it can be a little confusing, but the roads are clearly marked. Buy a road ATLAS online of the USA for about $10. ($5 from Walmart.com)
3) I hate travelling by bus, but the bus in America is named Trailways.
4) The train service is named Amtrak. At least you can buy a beer in the bar on the train.

Good luck.

Renting a car is the cheapest mode of travel at the moment. Regular graded gasoilne in South Carolina is around $1.91 per gallon. ....A bus takes forever , but is comfortable travel , and would probably take at least 10 hours or more from Greenville , SC to Greenville , NC at a cost around $100.00......AIr fare out of GSP airport in GV , SC. to PGV airport in GV , NC is around $551.00 , with a stop in Charlotte , NC.... If you drive your total cost should be around $25.00 for gas ( in an economy car ...25 miles to the gallon ), and whatever the cost of the rental car is. The person who recommened you take interstate 85 north all the way to Raleigh , NC , then I -40 to Greenville , NC , has given you the best route to take. ..The drive should take you a minimum of 7 hours ..Be aware of traffic jams in Charlotte , NC between 5pm & 7pm.....

Would recommend renting car... You need to check the mileage and routes, for there are 2 ways to drive this...

From Greenville to Charlotte, to Raleigh, then to Greenville. or,

From Greenville to Columbia then to Florence SC and pick up interstate 95 north to Greenville... This probably is the shorter route... But check it with mileage maps from the computer..

Both routes are Interstate Highways, however, the latter is less crowded and smaller cities to traverse... Good Luck..

I would recommend renting if it is possible for you to do so. The bus is nice so you can relax, but sometimes a trip that should only take 6 hours (example) could be up to about 10 or 11(example). I looked into going to Charleston, SC from Detroit, MI...a drive that would take about 15 hours would actually take about 24 hours for Greyhound. I spent an extra $200 for a plane ticket instead! Best of luck to you and happy traveling!

Your best bet is to rent a car and drive...the bus (Greyhound) would take FOREVER! Buses always stop in just about every little remote town on the route.
