Yes, definitely, since not many people are able to just nip out and buy a front-loading washer just like that!
I don't use the bags so much for my underwear, but I do use them for delicate clothes I would usually have to handwash, like knitted or embroidered materials, fancy or flimsy fabrics. I think in a small bag they can't move around so much or get snagged on anything, so most of my handwashing i do in the machine or even in with the normal loads.
Also if i have something thats too big for mesh laundry bag (most of mine are made for lingerie size stuff), I just use a pillowcase with the end knotted.
Best washing tip i was ever given - always do up bra hoooks before putting them in the wash - helps the bra keep its shape and hugely reduces the risk of them getting tangled up and hooks breaking off

Laundry bags are used for delicate items or undergarments. it will help to prolong the lifespan to a certain extend. follow the washing label instructions will also help to make the clothing last longer.

only if you are washing unmentionables
for everything else use a front load washing machine
it doesn't aggatate the clothes so less wear and tear on your clothes.

I think they can help especially if you are washing delicates or things that are easily damaged when washed, like sweaters.
