How do I film console video games off a TV?

I am using a camcorder with a hard drive and I am filming off of a HDTV.

I'd guess connect the output of the television to the imput of the cam corder. Or commect the console's output connectors directly to the camcorder, I do that through my VCR to record vidoe games that don't have a replay save feature, good luck!!!! :)=
