when try to watch online,sound can be heared but instead of pic colorful lines r displayed?

I have windows xp and 11 version of media player. It works properly but when I try to watch online movies, programs etc. then I can hear the sound but cant watch the picture.
Please help!

Version 11 is in Beta at the moment, (its not quite finished), so there's a few problems with it.

Try and uninstall and re-install version 10 which is more stable.
