Sadly, no I don't. They may lead us to think we are equal, but we won't be. Men have this need to be dominating, protective and problem solvers. They CAN'T let women be equal. It's not in their genes.

People are not equal. We are all unique, we all have different strengths and weaknesses, and we should not be treated exactly alike. We should be treated according to our ability, not equally.

If a woman is more capable than a man in a certain capacity, the employer would be foolish to waste such an opportunity, provided he's willing to pay for the better work. Profit motive will eventually drive the owners of the corporation to require their managers (your employers) to hire the most effective workers, regardless of their gender or race, or face loss of profits.

This trend will continue as owners become distantly removed from the workplace and their personal preferences or prejudices matter less and less, but it will also improve as it becomes easier to judge a potential employee's effectiveness.

Until you've proven yourself on your resume or elsewhere, employers will be forced to rely upon statistics and stereotypes to guide their decisions as to the best employee to hire or give raises to.

Of course that is possible.

But I know a lot of women who kept screaming for equality in status to the men in regards to work, socially, or both, and would still not expect the men to do certain things "men should do as a man".

My argument point is, when you want to be equal, do whatever men are doing then you will be equal. For example, don't expect men to pull out your chair before you sit, don't expect men to open the door for you, don't expect the men to carry your shopping bag, don't expect the men to be the one to fix the broken sink, and many more.

In fact,to be very honest about the real world, there is no such thing as absolute equality and fairness. There will bound to be some difference and all of us will just have to live with it.

Cheers!

GREAT QUESTION! But, That's hard to answer; people usually put the sole responsibility of child rearing on women. Employers may feel that women have two loyalties as opposed to one, and thus invest less in women. I hope this changes, I also hope mothers will come to be respected in the workplace.

Guys I've worked with don't usually discriminate until girls do something "typical" of women in non-professional environments. Believe me, I've been harrassed and hit on dozens of times at school and at work and I have NEVER done that to a woman.

Don't look for a man at work or even bring that line of reasoning with you, don't assume that you're being harrassed unless you're right. Face it, if you show something off, I'm going to look abnd that does NOT constitute a commitment or an opportunity to for you to have any quantitative amount of control over me. Don't flirt or do things to draw sexual attention at work, basically, don't distract us and we won't distract you, ok? I've known more than a few women to sleep with their bosses but never known a man to do that. It's called self - respect and we do respect women who respect themselves WITHOUT getting arrogant about it.

So can we please have a @#$ truce now? Can we please end the conflict? If blacks and whites can work together now, why can't we?

No! Especially not as long as there are women who are eager to get to the top through any means possible and rely on their sex appeal more than their brains. If women are to ever be taken seriously they have to stop being, and allowing men to treat them as sex objects and eye candy.

I consider myself equal and you should to. We can do the same job that any man can do. Just cause it's a little harder and supposedly we are not as strong as a man is Bull@#!* That's my opinion on it all.

work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and you would think that you were on an amazonian island.

the question is Bull $hit. by asking it, you feel that women are less than equal but should be considered so.

bad question for people like me who believe that capability does not come accross the board by the sexes, but by the person . as far as I am concerned most people are not equal regardless of gender.

more people should follow my thinking.

When they can do equal work on a level playing field.

Yes, equal pay for equal work....but no curve because your a woman.

If you have a working curve because of your gender, then your not really equal.

I'm not too sure, but I highly doubt it. No matter how liberal this planet is getting, I have a feeling that women are always going to have to deal with sexism.
