I think you need to stay out of your son's battles. He will feel like you're always coming to the rescue. Sometimes, he will have to fight back to retain his pride and dignity. In that case, tell him to hit his opponent in the face until he bleeds. The face bleeds really easy and it looks terrible; but it's not. It will seem that way to the other guy. After that, the others will leave him alone and he can walk around with pride of being able to take up for himself. Godloveya.

Fighting is not the answer. I think you should be proud of him for not hitting back. Just stay behind the dean and make sure the other kid is punished. Also, stay up on what is going on with your son. Don't let him get picked on by the other kids for doing what was right.

it is good to teach our children not to fight and especially not to start a fight. let him know you are proud of him but also let him know that it is not wrong for him to protect himself. I am sure that he did the right thing by not hitting back, but this sometimes brings on bullies who think he might be scared. tell him it takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight but if the fights just keep coming......protect himself to the point that the other person backs away and stop at that point and not to just keep fighting when he has the advantage over the other person

i am a little confused here... he did NOT hit back ? that is a good thing... you are one of the few parents that do not condone violence, and you are a very rare bred in deed... be proud he is hearing what you are saying... more parents should teach kids non-violence.. you stick with your feelings on this and be sure to pass on the good to son..... more power to you.... do not pay attention to the rest of those who make you question your beliefs..... stay strong and keep teaching your son the RIGHT way to handle the ugly stuff that comes his way in life.. God bless

i think your son should have hit the kid back if he was hit first my daughter is 13 and i dont encourage her to fight but i do tell her if someone hits you first then she has my permission to beat the crap out of that person i dont want her to think its ok for people to go around beating on her i also tell her that if she is hit first and she doesnt beat the living crap out of the person that hit her i will beat her *** when she gets home i want her to be confident that she can protect herself
