It depends on the guy. Some guys are open enough to put arms around EVERYONE. People may stick up for you because you are their friend or because they agree with you. People smile to not be rude. A lot of those things depends on the personality. Opening up to you may mean they like you or think of you as a close friend. I would say staring at you is probably the biggest sign of a guy liking you.

Smiles at you and wants to hang out with you! The others come along with all that.........First things first. When a guy likes you, they come to YOU. You don't come to them. A girl who seems all desperate is the one coming on to them....so let them come to you. My daughter is 18, beautiful, and has had many guys come on to her, in good ways and in bad. The eager "beavers" as I call them, are the ones to avoid. A guy who genuinly wants to hang out with you, will be the listener, the laugher, and the put your arms around you guy when you need a hug. Just be careful...there are alot of wolves out there. Trusting is a big deal anymore.
