There are many people in the world who very much believe in God and try to live their lives being good and doing good and many of these do not accept Jesus as the only way to enter heaven.
I refuse to believe that any just, loving, kind God would cast such people into eternal hell.

This is so old... Like, centuries old. It has so many holes in it, its not funny.
The biggest flaw is that you're arguing that we should believe your horse crap based on a cost / benefit analysis. Rational people believe things based on logic and evidence. We cant be bribed (heaven) into believing something, or threatened (hell) into believing something.
You said if you are wrong, you have not lost. How do you figure that? If the muslims are right, you wind up in their hell. If atheists are right, you have lost the integrity of your one and only life by basing it on a fairy tale.
You also assume that if your god exists, I'll go to hell for not believing in his son (why would a god have an offspring? but thats a different question..). That seems like a silly thing to believe.
If god would accept the death of one being (jesus) as payment for the acts of another (you or me), thats not justice or forgiveness, but indiscriminate revenge.
I could point out more flaws, but just visit the website below and scroll down to "Pascal's Wager", which is the name of your attempt at an arguement. Like I said, this is centuries old, and so lame. Youre such an amature.

I have read many questions and even more answers on this topic. I like the theory first posted by "Dear Dad, You IDIOT!"
Perhaps religions are like boogers. You have a G*D-given right to pick your own. But, your friends and neighbors have a G*D-given right to say that they are amused or disgusted by what you are willing to swallow.
To put my own perspective on it: Do you accept Jesus ebcause you love Jesus? Love is not rational, but that doesn't make it wrong.
But if you only are a Christian because your fear the punishment for NOT being a Christian, G*d will know it's fear, not love, and G*d will withold the rewards, for-according to your own scripture, the rewards are for those who LOVE Him.
A person who says "LOVE ME OR I'LL BURN YOU" is more likely a rapist than a friend.
G*d, by definition, knows your heart. And, if you heart sincerely doubts the very existence of G*d, then you will have the pleasant surprise of having your sincere ignorance rewarded.

Then we're going to hell obviously. But if you think about it, Christianity is a very modern religion compared to all the pagan religions that existed long before it. What makes Christianity any more convincing than those religions?

Why are you posting this here?
BTW ~ if any non- Christian is "wrong", are you saying that there is some sort of consequence to that? How can you be wrong about something or be penalized for something that you don't know exists and have no burden of proof to believe so?

I'm a non-believer, and I'll take my chances.
I live a modest life, am faithful to my wife and child, avoid materialism at all costs, give to charity, have never engaged in violence of any form, oppose war and hypocrisy...
...if there is a supreme being, I am sure he will "judge" me on these attributes rather than shallow "feel-good/dress-up" Sunday visits to chant hymns and discuss 2000 year old fairy tales.

and if your wrong you wasted your entire life believing in something that isn't there. besides, in most cases you religious types are nothing more than hypocrites. like the guy with his family in the car waiting to get out of church parking lot after mass. traffic was a little heavy. he got real impatient and tried to force his way in front of me. when i wouldn't let him he yelled an obscenity at me and gave me the bird. how perfect you chatholics have it set up, you can sin all week and on sunday clear your soul with confession. wasnt that a great idea. i will keep to my beliefs and you should keep to yours.......i dont bother you so why do you feel the need to bother me

I'll take my chances.
Besides, believers in christ make up only a small portion of humans on planet earth. I have a hard time believing everyone else is wrong.
Also, one other note: Any religion where George Bush professes to talk to it's god... right there loses a crap load of credibility.

You can "what if" all day, It won't change a thing.
Those who are chosen by God, who's names are written in the book of the lamb before the foundations of the earth, will be with Him no matter what. They were already purchased, but will they be redeemed? Your question should be rephrased to ask, If you don't choose to follow Jesus what will happen to you? Do you really know for sure?

So what if we're wrong? At least we haven't wasted this present life pinning our hopes on some fairytale afterlife.
