I was just sitting here writing my essay for school, when all of a sudden my heart started beating really fast for no reason. Why did this happen? What can I do if it does it again?

This happens to me when I am a bit stressed about something, cut down on sugar and caffeine and try to relax a bit. If you are still worried best to ask your doctor.

That happened to me in college. It freaked me out. I had my heart checked. All was well. Somewhere in my late 30's I started getting an irregular heartbeat. Not ALL the time....but enough that it bothered and scared me. I REALLY had it checked out. Still, all is well. I simply get an irreg. heartbeat sometimes. I haven't for a long time, now. Just have it checked by a GOOD doctor,if it does this again. Take note of what was going on with you, when it happened. Also, think back...prio to the weirdness, were you under stress? Sometimes things happen AFTER the fact. Good luck, kiddo.

Reality Bites. You have fears that you cannot write a good essay in the time given. Just calm yourself down, brainstorm and write down your flow of ideas/pts and expand them into essay. Finished the writing and your heaet beat will be normal again.

you prolly thought of something and got anxious, next time it happens just take a deep breath and try to calm down. If theres a pain in your heart and your left arm gets tingly go see a doctor ASAP

anxiety maybe? the pressure of getting the paper done, on top of what ever else may be happening around you, keep track of it. My wife had the same sort of thing happening, the Dr. told her to cut out her stress in her life and cut back on caffeine

This happens to me too, usually after I drink too much caffeine. Theyre called heart palpitations. They are pretty normal, just try to cut back on caffeine. And mention it to your doctor next time you go. Don't worry though, no emergency.

Probably anxiety. Cut down on the caffeine and take deep breathes if it happens again.

It's called an anxiety attack and if you work yourself up it can happen or if your upset in a hurry but nothing to be really concerned just slow down your breathing with deep breaths in and out. hope that helped

Atheists don’t have faith in any God… The Judeo/Christian/Islamic God is a nightmarish monster! Mal 2:3 Behold, I* (*God) will corrupt your seed, and unfold DUNG* (*sh*t) upon your faces* (*not ASHES! That’s a gross gesture for a God that freaks out on the sight of sh*t -Deu23:13-14)
