A football player needs to have fluid drained from his knee does he have to have this done again once it's been drained once before?

Not likely for it to happen again, but i had fluid drained off my knee and it took me awhile before mobility came back and i wasn't even warned about that,like after it is done you cant pick you foot up to the coffee table when sitting on sofa.You have to lift it with your hands, So be aware of temporary mobility difficulties.

Yes many in sports have that done when it is necessary.
Also after much wear and tare on the joints there are at times those in sports have fusions done on an aching area that shows no improvement from other medical treatments.
