Start at the beginning, add more and more until you have the whoe thing memorized. At that point, write it down to reenforce the memory.

I'm enrolled in college also. The way that I do it is the night that something is assigned, I read a little bit that night...the next night I'll start at the beginning and read beyond that....the next night, I read the beginning, the second night and a little more until and I repeat the process until I've got it all read. It's better to do a little at a time than all at once. If you do it all at once, you get tired and you won't remember everything. Pace yourself.

i used to memorize large portions of the bible...for fun....the above ideas are good...but i think this helps too
