Nieuwendyk and Belfour are not what they were in 1999 when Dallas won a cup. Players like Horton and Wiess aren't enough to push the Panthers deep into the playoffs. Martin is going to buckle under the workload of GM and coach. Getting rid of Luongo hurts this team a ton too even if he isn't proven in the playoffs. The Panthers may sneak into the 8th seed but I strongly doubt that even. The Thrashers and Bruins were both out of the playoffs last year and improved a ton more than the Panthers. Hey, at least the Panthers aren't the Islanders though. haha.

I don't think the Panthers can be written off so easily but their defense is still suspect - however there is a lot of firepower in Miami this season....
anything is possible but I highly doubt the Panthers will make the playoffs let alone compete for the cup.

Carolina is the best of that division, I don't think Florida can beat em out this upcoming season.

I laugh in your general direction. They have a bunch of nobodies and we up here in Vancouver stole your all-world goalie for thart total floater Toadtuzzi (OK, Auld and Allen are serviceable). Good luck.

not after trading lunogo to van. bertuzzi isn't goign to help much. most important thing in the playoffs is goaltending and auld? belfour?
