I really don't think there can be any "Next Pele." There is only One Pele. -The King of the Game. Each player should be judged on his own merit as each has different style and when compared to Pele, they will always fall short . Pele is the King of Futbal and there is only ONE KING. Anyhow, who do you think is the "Next Pele?"

Well yeah...I just said there is no "next Pele." One of the other reasons behind this question is the Argentine football fans who alwasys compare their players to maradona and keeps saying "he is the next maradon....no he is the next maradona." this is another reason that prompted me to ask this question.

Robinho. Pele said so himself.
There was this once when Pele saw Robinho training and remarked: This lad reminds me of myself when I was younger.
He just needs more chances to play and develop as, right now, most of his value is in his enormous amount of potential.

Several points on this.
Many records were broken at the last WC.
Teams that always lose in PK won.
Players score 5 goals in the first group 2 WCs in a row.
Etc. at least 10 things of note.
This means that the talent is there, maybe better.
But the persona, becoming a government declared treasure.
The Black Pearl is unique to his time and has done many things to help grow the game.
The King of England 2006 is not the same as the King of England 1602.
Besides, didn't the golden ball go to the player who at the end used his head and lost the finals?
The lens we are using today is clouded.
Take time to refresh our outlook and I believe an honorary title or tradition might find that someone millions of people love to watch.
I haven't see anyone that has the same aura. Yet
I think we will soon.

I hope there is a new Pele because soccer sucks now--too low scoring and boring beyond belief. If I see any more zeroes on socer scoreboards, I'll scream! And what is with the diving and metrosexuals-a-go-go?
I think the only hope for soccer is a new Pele or serious rule changes to open the game up. Give me the '70s or '870s over today's crapola.

I don't think there will ever be another Pele, he did his thing way before it was even heard of, but the new Brasilian everyone is talking about is this 18 year old kid called Anderson, He plays for fc porto in portugal and the big clubs are already starting to take an interest in this kid "barca and chelsea" go figure, so hopefully he lives up to the hype......

u said it..there shouldn't be any next pele for brasil..it's not fair to the others..they should be judged only on their own talent and skill..but if u really want to know who is 'the next pele' then i think romario, ronaldo, and maybe robinho are the right candidates for the title..

Ronaldinho has the flair and personality reminiscent of Pele. He was a big flop however in Germany 2006. Hope he redeems himself in South Africa 2010, I still have faith in him.

Well there was only one "pele" and he is a legend. every soccer player has a legend buit if u ask me, i would say that the next "SUPER SOCCER STAR" will be the one and only Ronaldinho Gaucho. he is one of the greates soccer palyers ever seen but... my favorite soccer player is Cristiano Ronaldo no matter what people say about him!

It's probably someone we haven't heard of yet, playing in the slums of Brazil playing barefoot, I've seen documentaries on these kids and wow at a young age they are doing things I could only dream of doing with a football

Romario, at least in goal counts. He is about to surpass Pele in that category.
