Well, you question is not clear, but I get it. By definition, snakes don't have legs. But you are asking about evolution. It this case, it would be supposition to say that a fossil was a snake with legs, since if it had legs, it would not be a snake.

There are legless lizards. The skull is that of a lizard but the legs have shrunk away. This is a logical reason to think that snake ancestors might have done the same. But there is not proof of it.

This is related to the question 'which came first the chicken or the egg.'

;-D Maybe a snake mated with a lizard and they had legless lizard offspring.

All snakes used to have legs, as a matter of fact they used to run up & down the beach while the amoeba was evolving into people. Then one day their legs fell off & they started complaining to each other 'like, Man my belly is gettin' sore I"ll be glad when my legs evolve back on.

Yes.Snake fossils offer a great example of evolution,as we have found several missing links between lizards and snakes, with leg length gradually growing shorter.

Nope, I read an article on CNN a long time ago and they showed a picture of what they believed to be an ancestor of the present snake, and let me tell you, it didn't have legs. It looked like a giant catipillar with spikes.
